ABOUT

George Ammerlaan is a Dutch sound designer, sound effects editor, and re-recording mixer based in Amsterdam, with a lifelong fascination for building worlds and telling stories.

​

His journey started at the Prague Film School, where he took an intensive course in filmmaking. That experience sparked a deeper interest in the relationship between picture and sound, which led him to study sound design at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam.

​

Throughout his studies and beyond, George has worked on feature films, short films, animation, and series. Taking care of everything from Foley and field recording to final mix and mastering. These experiences have not only refined his technical skills with tools like Pro Tools, Soundminer, and a wide range of recording gear, but also strengthened his creative instincts and collaborative mindset.

In addition to his sound work, George has been active as an editor for over ten years, creating works that have collectively gained over 3 million views on social platforms.
