Live a Little.

We often dream of being somewhere else, believing that life would be better there. But what if we simply focused on where we are, on our own lives, and tried to make them as beautiful as they can be?

Last year, I visited Rome with my family. It was right after a period when I had trouble enjoying the things I was doing. On the plane to the city, I watched Passengers (2016), a film directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts, and one conversation changed everything for me: “The point is, you can’t get so hung up on where you’d rather be that you forget how to make the most of where you are. Take a break from worrying about what you can’t control. Live a little.”

So you know what I did? I tried exactly that. I tried to live a little. Suddenly I started noticing all these small, beautiful stories happening around me. It felt like my eyes opened. And when I came home, I kept noticing them. The world didn't change, but the way I looked at it did.

What I'm trying to say is this: you can only find what you're looking for.

Go out there, look around, find those stories, those little moments that make you smile, and remember to live a little.
